More Safety Improvements to the Bruce Highway

​April saw the kick off of our latest Transport and Main Roads project, this time closer to home with various sites North and South of Townsville.

The project is part of the Qld Government’s Bruce Highway safety improvement program.  Locations include:

• Ayr – Safer Roadsides – Kerb removal, installation of concrete channel, guardrail installation and widening in sections.
• Allendale Drive, Alligator Creek – Safer Roadsides – Guardrail installation, box culverts, road widening and concrete batters.
• Christmas Creek rest area – Rest area improvement – building of a new ablution block and town entry treatment either side of Rollingstone.
• Clemant  - Safer roadsides and overtaking lane between Leichhardt Creek and Lilypond Creek – Relocation of Weight in Motion device, guardrail installation, culvert removal and installation, road widening.
• Nome, Muntalunda Drive – Culvert removal, conduit relocation, lighting installation, road widening and guardrail installation.
