Richard McDonald - GAICDManaging Director
Richard has over 45 years hands on civil engineering and construction operational experience through supervisory roles, project management and development. His total commitment to safety, quality, environmental protection and continuous improvement coupled with a thorough and broad knowledge of the civil construction industry has been gained by his direct involvement in multi-facet projects in Australia, East Timor and Vanuatu. Richard is a strong advocate for safely driving the development, implementation and ongoing operation of quality projects from conception to completion. |
Erik StokesChief Representative (East Timor)
Erik has over 25 years experience in the civil, mining and engineering industries including workshop management, heavy haulage, construction and bulk operations. Erik brings to RMS’s East Timor operation superior liaison and management skills demonstrated by the delivery of completed projects to the client’s satisfaction through his disciplined project management skills ensuring contracts are well recorded and remain transparent. |
Antonio Goncalves - DipWHS, DipPM, DipHRHealth, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager
Antonio has over 15 years experience within the mining sector contracting to major organisations such as BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, BechTel, Anglo American, Arrow Energy, Glencore and Newcrest Mining. He has held senior positions in these roles and provided safety leadership and support for onsite operations. Some of Antonio’s experience include underground mining, mine site civil works, exploration drilling, seam gas drilling, horizontal/directional drilling and pipelines construction. During this time, Antonio has been involved in developing risk management strategies for high risk activities and ensuring compliance within the safety, health, environment and quality framework. |
Helen Hobbs - BCom, MBA, CPAChief Financial Controller
Helen has over 25 years experience through a cross section of finance accounting roles in the public and private sectors. Helen draws her experience from employment within Australia and the United Kingdom. Helen specialises in project and cost accounting and is also focused on the company's continuing performance improvement in line with business strategy. Helen holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Business Administration and is a Certified Practicing Accountant. |
Jack McDonald - BEngProject Manager / Engineer
Jack has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and has been directly involved in the Civil Construction industry for nearly 15 years with first-hand experience in Victoria, Queensland and the Pacific Region. As the Contractors Representative for the construction of Cyclone Pam disaster relief project, Jack successfully delivered over 10 kilometres of roadwork consisting of pavement repair, and the laying of asphalt over the entire length, 15km of footpath, 15km of kerb and channel and 8 kilometres of new stormwater drainage, to Australian DTMR standards, through the centre of Port Vila, Vanuatu. Working closely with the Vanuatu Government, local authorities, design teams and managing over 60 direct employees, this challenging project was completed on time and was rewarding, valuable experience for all involved. Now based in Townsville Jack is extensively involved in numerous facets throughout the business including tendering, business development and focusing on project delivery. |
Hysen Stoneham - BEng (Hons), TMD-OP924Hysen holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with First Class Honours and TMR Traffic Management Design Certification. During his career he has progressed to be a very diligent and forward-thinking Project Manager. Upon obtaining his Degree Hysen has worked extensively on road projects beginning with a Bruce Highway Safety Upgrade where he was responsible for completing traffic guidance schemes and undertaking the quality documentation.
Hysen has extensive knowledge of DTMR Standards and he has the ability to communicate effectively with the client’s team on all day to day issues and construction changes that occur. Hysen’s forte is the ability to read and interpret drawings, giving construction directions to the RMS works superintendent and supervisors. Hysen is also extensively involved in programming, forward planning and preparation of reports. |
Joel McKenziePlant Manager
Joel is a fully qualified motor mechanic with over 20 years in the civil construction industry. Joel provides leadership to the workshop and procurement team and manages the day to day running of the workshop. He ensures all our machinery is maintained to a high standard to enable our project sites avoid delays. Joel maintains all asset records of all plant, equipment and material transfers to and from projects. |
Nathan Elrick - TMD-OP73Traffic Manager
Nathan has extensive experience and a proven track record in traffic management planning, implementation and roadworks inspections. He is qualified with TMR for the development of Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes. Nathan possesses strong reporting skills, and has an analytical and investigative approach identifying areas for improvement, as well as a strong commitment to occupational health and safety requirements. |
Rob BarkerWorks Superintendent
Rob is a qualified tradesman with over 10 years’ experience undertaking Supervisory roles, on multiple civil and building projects, up to the values of $170M. Rob oversees the full scope of roadwork construction activities, inclusive of form work, steel fixing, concrete pours, earthworks, paving, drainage and the construction of bridge structures. Rob’s trade qualifications and experience, his certifications in Civil Construction Supervision (Cert IV) and Bridge Construction and Maintenance (Cert III), and his demonstrated ability in helping to deliver major infrastructure projects as Supervisor, now allows him to proficiently enforce construction standards, verify structural integrity and compliance with specifications, codes and regulations. |
