Health, safety and environment.

Every person who works with us has the right to go home safely, whoever they are going home to. At RMS safety comes first, always.

We believe all incidents are preventable and we invest in our people and practices to ensure every person understands our commitment to health, safety and the environment.

Our certified Management Systems comply with the requirements of AS/NZS 4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and maintains Federal Safety Accreditation.

Our 7 point safety approach.

At RMS, we are proud to keep safety our priority and all employees and sub-contractors are trained in our 7 point safety approach.
  1. ​Lifting operations. Never stand, or walk under any suspended load. Always ensure exclusion zones are enforced.
  2. Overhead and underground services. Make sure you have authorisation prior to commencing any excavations. Make sure you always check for services in the area.
  3. Mobile plant and equipment. Always establish positive contact with all heavy equipment before approaching. Make sure you are trained and authorised to operate the equipment.
  4. Traffic vehicle interactions. Make sure you understand the Traffic Management Plan. Make sure you follow all signage and road rules. Make sure you wear all personal protective equipment (PPE).
  5. Trenches. Do not enter any trenches over 1.5 metres without any shoring, benching or battering.
  6. Working at heights. Always make sure you have a working at heights permit and the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing.
  7. Confined spaces. Always make sure you have a permit for confined spaces. Always check the confined space for hazardous gases.
