2024 Queensland CCF Earth Awards for Excellence in Civil Construction
WINNER Project of the Year (Value $30M–$75M) AND National Finalist for the Smiths Gap Overtaking Lane and Fauna Crossing and is a testament to RMS's commitment to engineering excellence and environmental stewardship. At RMS, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality projects in complex and demanding environments by developing innovative solutions to unique challenges. Situated approximately 12 kilometres north of Tully in Far North Queensland, the Smith’s Gap project encompassed the construction of a new southbound overtaking lane and a precast concrete arch fauna overpass. This overpass serves as a critical link between fragmented habitats within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, facilitating safe passage for the endangered Southern Cassowary and other native wildlife. Certifications and licences.RMS holds the Department of Transport and Main Roads Prequalification Levels R3, B2 and F50, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and maintains Federal Safety Accreditation.
