RMS is celebrating a dozen years in business. 12 years ago this November, Managing Director Richard McDonald established RMS as a civil construction company in Townsville.
Since then, the company has grown with branches in Townsville, Rockhampton and Timor Leste. The company has delivered many successful civil construction projects for government and private clients over the years in regional Queensland and the south Pacific.
“It only seems like yesterday that we opened the doors as RMS,” said Richard McDonald.
“RMS’s history began in Victoria during the 1930’s when the original company founder and forefather John Joseph McDonald, worked with World War One soldiers to build sections of the now famous Great Ocean Road. The team went onto work with landholders and local councils to construct farm dams, town water storages and to plan and design new council and state roads, to open up new opportunities and provide further expansion for the growing economy. The company was originally incorporated as JMS. In 2007, we incorporated as RMS,” he explained.
“I’d like to thank all of our staff, sub-contractors and clients for their support over the past dozen years. We wouldn’t be the company we are today without them,” he finished.
