RMS Timor Leste has taken steps to reduce the amount of single use plastic water bottles being disbursed within the company by installing a new water filtration system.
In addition to the existing sediment, carbon and UV filtering system we have added a Sawyer water filtration system.
This new system removes 99.9999% of bacteria such as Cholera, Botulism (Clostridium Botulinum), Typhoid (Salmonellla Typhi), Amoebic Dysentery, E. coli, Coliform Bacteria, Streptococcus, Salmonella,of all Protozoa such as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Cyclospora from the water . Removing all of these bacteria makes the water 100% safe for drinking.
By Implementing this new water filtration system, RMS has reduced single use bottled water usage from in excess of 200 boxes per month to just 20 boxes per month.
RMS is dedicated to reducing waste and by reducing the number of single use plastic bottles that are thrown away each month, we hope that this makes a difference to the environment in Timor-Leste.
As part of this initiative we are supplying all of our workers with a reusable RMS water bottles to ensure that they do not continue to use single use plastic bottles.
