RMS Engineering and Construction Plant Manager Joel McKenzie and Project Engineer Jack McDonald have unveiled the Beyond Blue excavator today.
“Beyond Blue do a fantastic job in raising awareness of depression, anxiety and mental health issues and we wanted to show our support,” said Managing Director Richard McDonald.
“By painting the Komatsu PC88 excavator in the Beyond Blue colours and adding their logo to the machine, we can do something practical to help raise awareness around Townsville,” he added.
RMS anticipates residents of Townsville will see the blue excavator at work on job sites around town over the coming years and hopefully be reminded to look out for each other.
According to Beyond Blue, 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health issue at some time in their life. Statistically, that means every few cars that pass RMS jobsites around Townsville are carrying someone living with a mental health issue. If this machine can in a small way remind them that Beyond Blue are there for them and remind us all of the important work Beyond Blue are doing, then the RMS team feel like they have done something beneficial too.
